Symbi’s 2026 Demonstration Project is a living exemplar of what American housing can become: a 1950s rambler reimagined through deep energy retrofit into a 3,700-square-foot residence designed for every stage of life. The main floor delivers complete single-story living, including a luxurious primary suite, two additional bedrooms and hall bath, a kitchen-living-dining great room, walk-in pantry, and a generous laundry and storage room all opening onto a spacious outdoor deck.

Universal design is woven in rather than added on: a zero-step entry, curbless shower, and three-foot doorways and hallways create safety, comfort, and ease. A two-bedroom basement apartment extends the home’s flexibility, ready to welcome extended family, a live-in caregiver, or out-of-town guests. Beneath the healthy, nature-inspired finishes, the home is fully electrified and performance-driven with zoned HVAC heat pumps, Energy Star appliances, expansive windows, smart home technology, and a fortified exterior shell.
