At Symbi Homes, we have been building with structural insulated panels (SIPs) for nearly a decade, and these partially-prefab’d pre-insulated customized components have become our preferred system for exterior above-grade walls of new homes. Compared to traditional stick construction, the panels are more durable, more energy efficient, less wasteful, less labor intensive, and take less time to install. And the cost of SIPs is now very similar to traditional construction methods.
